There is no one right type of couple. They are all honored.

BDSM Kink Aware Counseling – Most psychotherapist still view BDSM and Kink from a position of psychopathology. In Kink-Affirming therapy we are not looking to change you or fix you. We are looking to dispel feelings of shame and guilt while looking to integrate Kink and BDSM safely into your life.
Are you experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Stress, Anger, Isolation, Poor Self Image leading you to feel flawed and unlovable?
Most LGBTQIA+ individuals experience emotional wounds related to our families, faiths, culture, society, workplace, not being accepting of our true identities. Many of us are exposed to overwhelming toxic shame at a very young age when our gay, lesbian, transgender, or non-binary expressions were not tolerated: leaving us unprepared to cope and develop normally resulting in emotional wound of toxic shame. These wounds cause anxiety, depression, sadness, anger, and a lasting feeling of worthlessness that haunts us our entire lives and surfaces in our relationships with others. It is much deeper than a poor self-image. It is a deeply held belief that we are somehow unacceptable, unlovable, and flawed as people simply because we are not heterosexual.
These deeply held beliefs prevent us from developing into emotional healthy adults. Instead, we get stuck in an unresolved stages of identity development. We work at presenting to the world a self that is designed to pass unnoticed. We design a core identity to present to the world and we bury our shame.
Even though we may develop successful careers and enter relationships, we still suffer from a variety of addictions, bouts of depression, anxiety, sadness, and a general feeling of being worthless. We cope by overachieving or pretending to be that which we are not.
We do not have to accept those feelings and we can learn to manage them and move pass them and discover a much healthier way to love.
Are you exploring coming out of the closet, transitioning, or expressing your non-binary self?
The stress of remaining closeted at work, with family, in a repressive faith, or an extremely conservative community is real, and it creates lasting trauma. When coming out, we all must learn how to deal with discrimination, prejudice, and sometimes the threat of violence, possibly from those we love, or even random acts of violence targeted at our community. In coming out we face our own internalized homophobia and transphobia and become free to live as our authentic self. Freedom from lies brings its own peace that is immeasurable.
Working with these issues, it is imperative that you have a competent, skilled therapist who understands how these issues lead to suffering and may compound mental illness. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, my goal is to provide space for you to explore your trauma and heal.
